Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

What are the worship services like?

Answer:

We offer two worship services, 7:45 am and 10:00 am. Our services begin with a spirit led praise and worship, followed by a call to worship and prayer. The congregation is encouraged to participate in praising God by singing both traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs. One of three choirs will minister in song as well. Childcare is available at 10:00 am worship services.

Question:

Are there any mid-week activities?

Answer:

Prayer service is on Tuesday at 11:15 am and 6:15 pm. Bible study is offered at noon on Tuesday and at 7:00 pm on Tuesday night. The youth meet on Friday nights TBA each month.

Question:

What kind of ministry do you have for children?

Answer:

Our children's & youth's ministry starts with On Mission Hour, traditionally called Sunday School. We have a class for every age group. A nursery is also provided for infants and toddlers during worship services, along with Children's Church for youngsters ages 6-10. The Youth ministry has a full calendar of events which include Fall Harvest Festival, activities, field-trips, community service, topic luncheons, VBS, JR. BUFFALO SOLDIERS, family camping trip, sports, and classes on various topics, etc.

Question:

What is the procedure for joining your church?

Answer:

The most common way to join our church is to come up to the altar when the minister extends the invitation to discipleship (after the sermon) during service. However, you can join the church during any public worship or bible study time. Simply let the leader, teacher, or pastor know your desire. We will respond to your particular need or situation.
Common practices:
a) Upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, after baptism by immersion.
b) Upon statement of Christian experience, if previously baptized by immersion.
c) By restoration

Question:

With which Baptist Convention are you affiliated?

Answer:

At this time, we have not made a commitment to any particular Baptist Convention. However, our teachers, ministers, and leaders regularly attend workshops, seminars, and conventions with the Southern Baptist, and National Baptist Conventions. Our Pastor participates in a number of conferences in various Baptist conventions.

Question:

What is the size of the congregation?

Answer:

At this time, United in Christ has approximately 350 active members of all age groups, and we are growing everyday.
